With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Janet Mary Richard of Lockport, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 21, 2024 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Golen J. Richard and Joyce Cheramie Melancon; her children, Jimmy J. Cheramie and Lisa A. Cheramie; and her brother Patrick P. Autin.

She is survived by : her children, Sonny Cheramie (Sheila), Johnny Cheramie (Rhonda) and Goldie Pitre (Bruce); and her siblings, Joey Burkhardt, Jerry Autin (Laurie), Donald "Don Rich" Richard and Diane Richard. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Holy Savior Little Church (201 Church St, Lockport, LA 70374). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Holy Savior Cemetery (612 Main St, Lockport, LA 70374). A burial was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
