Barbara Ann Scharwath Obituary

We announce the death of Barbara Ann Scharwath of Lutcher, Louisiana, born in Gramercy, Louisiana, who passed away on August 29, 2026, at the age of 90. Barbara Ann will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Theodore Scharwath, Sr.; her parents, Daniel Louque and Elise Louque; and her siblings, Daniel "Neg", Rita, Carol, Everette, Harold, Jacqueline "Sookie", Kenneth, Lois, Ronald, Priscilla and Gary.

She is survived by: her children, Theodore Scharwath, Jr. (Kim), Kim Poche, Keith Scharwath, Sr. (Linda), Bruce Scharwath (Christie), Jeffery Scharwath, Sr. (Joelle) and Donna Podufalski (Joey); and her sister-in-law Alice Louque (Gary). She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (2130 Rectory St, Paulina, LA 70763). A Mass was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the St. Joseph Cemetery.
