It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rebecca Lynn Speyrer of Mandeville, Louisiana, born in Corpus Christi, Texas, who passed away on January 13, 2026, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid adieu to Rebecca's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Rebecca has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Robert Woodall and Verna Augusta Goehring. She is survived by: her husband John B. Speyrer Jr.; her children, Corey Matherne (Kara), Lonnie Matherne (Lauren), Rachelle Knighten (Mike) and Jennifer Speyrer; and her brother Steve Woodall (Kristi). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.
