He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Deason and Eurma Mae Jones Deason; his wife Ruby Deason; his children, Ever Burr, Shirley Johnson, Bo Goodman and Winford Goodman; his great grandchildren, Carla Meshell and Jacob Norris; and his sisters, Sylvia Sherwood, Brenda Elliott and Betty Jean Peterson.
He is survived by: his children, Skipper Pennington (Cindy), Walter Bell, Eurma Meshell and Dolly Welborn; his sister Brenda Mason; and his daughter-in-law Josie Goodman.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home (943 Polk St, Mansfield, LA 71052). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 5:30 PM to 5:45 PM at the Converse Cemetery.
