He was predeceased by : his parents, Curtis Knippers and Thelma Knippers; his former life partner Dollie Moore Knippers; his brother Glenn Knippers; and his son Gary Knippers.

He is survived by : his grandchildren, Emily Hambleton Deese, Kirk Hambleton, Kevin Hambleton, Cece Hambleton, Mark Hambleton and Holly Hambleton; his wife Cela Gandy Hambleton Knippers; his sons, Robert Hambleton, Scott Hambleton and Tom Hambleton; his sister Judy House Cheatwood; his son Micah Knippers (Kirsten); and his grandchildren, Miranda Knippers and Leif Knippers (Austin).

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church Youth Camp fund or The Patriot Guard in care of Larry Alford 204 Middle Creek Rd. Many, LA 71449.
