He was predeceased by: his parents, George Emmette and Jerry Thurston; his sister Frances Lee "Sissy" Thurston; and his nephew Eli Thomas. He is survived by: his daughter Miranda Thurston; his grandsons, Hunter Tedeton and Hayden Thurston; his siblings, Jeannie Browing, Cindy Brantley (Virgil), Amy Thomas (Billy) and Steve Thurston (Carol); his aunt Rosemary Thurston; and his cousins, Jay Thurston (Sandi), Bill Thurston (Kaye) and Hank Thurston (Debbie).
