It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Berkman Anderson of Marrero, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on May 24, 2025, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lil Joe and Virleen Green Anderson; his grandparents, Robert, Josephine Green, Joseph and Olivia Anderson; and his siblings, Carol Butler, Shirley Canselo, Denise Anderson, Gloria Allen, Leroy Anderson, Joseph Anderson, Jr. and Leroy Mitchell.
He is survived by: his children, Auvionna Joy Anderson and Darius "DJ" Jones; his grandchild Emiya Green; his siblings, Ernest, Freddie, Robert Anderson, Yvonne Smith, Hilda Anderson and Linda Roche; and his nieces and nephews, Angelnetta Canselo, Ernest Anderson, Jr., Joseph "Prat" Anderson, Steven Canselo and Kavin Lawrence. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Zion Christian Family Worship Center (5040 Taravella Rd, Marrero, LA 70072). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. FACE MASKS ARE RECOMMENDED.
