He was predeceased by: his parents, Effie Mae and Curtis Pitts; and his sister Dorothy Jean Nichols. He is survived by: his wife Mary Montero Pitts; his children, Curtis Ray Pitts, Jr. and Stephanie Elise Pitts; his sister Martha Kingsley; his grandchildren, Cheri Fincher, Parker Ray Serignet and Owen Lawrence Serignet; his niece Cynthia Nichols; and his children, George Nichols, Austin, Eddie Kingsley, Vera Stringer, Ann Wood, Billie Sue Martin, Effie Mae Rushing and Madeline Smith.
