He was predeceased by: his parents, Demetrio Jr. Nieves and Eva Nieves. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Prejeant Nieves; his stepdaughter Harlee Underwood (Mitch); his granddaughter Jayme Sumrall; and his siblings, Juanita Gautreaux, Brenda Nieves, Yvonne Robinson (Roy), Demetrio III and Yolanda Jensen (Bill). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, close friends and in-laws.
