It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Deseree Davis Gaines (Marrero, Louisiana), born in Georgetown, Mississippi, who passed away on January 19, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Janie Beasley Davis; and her sisters, Magalean Davis, Mamie Davis, Vera Dixon and Bettye Davis Williams.

She is survived by: her significant other Richard W. Gaines; and her siblings, John Wesley Davis, Francis Davis Ralph and Janie Pearl Davis. She is also survived by in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.
