Gary J. Marque Obituary

Gary J. Marque, born on February 29, 1940, passed away on August 31, 2026. Gary leaves behind family members and others who acknowledge this loss. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Marque and Beatrice Rivere Marque; his wife Sylvia Falgout Marque; his grandson Justin Breaux; and his in-laws, Sidney, Rose Terrebonne Falgout and Leonard Hidalgo.

He is survived by: his children, Kevin C Marque (Dixie), Daniel J Marque (Angie) and Suzanne R Marque Berger (Richard); his grandchildren, Tyler Cortez (Megan), Devin Marque (Ayree), Austin Marque (Renee), Katherine "Katie" Marque, Gracie Marque, Emma Berger and Pierce Berger; his great grandchildren, Lilliana, Lilah Cortez and Lucy Marque; his siblings, Marjorie "Margie" Marque Hidalgo and Willie "Billy" Marque (Karen) of Marque's Foods; his brother-in-law Daryl Falgout (Bobbie); his nieces and nephews, Rhonda Hidalgo, Stephanie M McGuire (Michael), Jack Friley, David Hidalgo (Lauren) and Steven Marque (Hollie); and his godson Perry Hidalgo (Leah). He is also survived by ten great nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Mothe Funeral Homes (7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA 70072). A Mass was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at the Memories Cemetery (4900 Airline Dr, Metairie, LA 70001).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests Mass offerings or donations to the Steve Gleason Foundation for ALS.
