We announce the death of Gil Muse (Marrero, Louisiana), born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of 73. Gil will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Joanas Scott Muse; his children, Gil Muse, Kelvin Muse (ZaKiya), Fatima Muse, Sauda Moore (Travis), Julia Green (The Governor), Frederick Scott (LuAnn) and Sterling Green; his parents, Oscar Muse and Leona Muse; and his siblings, Oscar Muse, Monica Lynn Muse and Simone Muse. He was also cherished by 22 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Viewing was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Davis Mortuary Service (6820 Westbank Expy, Marrero, LA 70072). Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
