He was predeceased by : his parents, Lillie George Allen and McKinley Carter; his siblings, Cressie Travis, Essie Carter, Lamar Allen and Otis Earl Carter; and his brothers-in-law, Roosevelt Williams, Willie Williams, James Williams, Varnell Williams and Milton Burns.
He is survived by : his sisters-in-law, Gloria Jean Williams, Joyce Williams and Burns; his wife Lilly Yvonne Walker; his stepsons, Charles W. Growe, Jr. and Stephen Growe (Patricia); his grandchildren, Jarrett, Ephraim, Artecia Gunn, Trinity Faith Addison, Saana and Samuel Growe; and his godchildren, Patricia Dabon, Brandon and Joaquin Smith. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
