He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank N. Thiel and Alma C. Thiel; his wife Bernadette V. Thiel; his son Keith J. Thiel, Jr. (Lori); his son-in-law Andrew Arceneaux (Tina); and his godchild Tiffani "Niki" Thiel.
He is survived by: his daughter Miranda K. Thiel; his grandchild Hayden Thiel; his brothers, Timothy Thiel (late Vanda) and G. Gary Thiel (Crystal); his niece Charlotte G. Thiel; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Cain, Blaise and Libby McCoy; his daughter-in-law Lori Loup Thiel; his cousin Todd Guidry; and his aunt Christine Steele. He is also survived by four aunts and countless cousins.
