She was predeceased by: her husband Percy Smallwood, Sr.; her son Percy "Chucky" Smallwood, Jr.; her grandchild Sterling; her parents, Albert Walker and Elnora "Mama Pearl" Brown Walker; and her siblings, Albert, Jr., Wilbert Walker, Sr. and Bernadine Walker Vidal.
She is survived by: her children, Wanda Smallwood Hill, Angela Smallwood Carter, LaVern Smallwood, Yolanda Smallwood Payne (William), Kent Smallwood, Jeffery Smallwood, Sr. (Nicole), Randal Smallwood (DeShon) and Karen Smallwood Matthews; her grandson Jeffery Smallwood, Jr.; her sisters, Audrey Walker Dixon and Myrtle Walker Weber; and her children-in-law, Janice Smallwood and Joseph Ray Matthews. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church (1000 Walkertown Way, Marrero, LA 70072). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
