With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Daniel Patrick Dumas of Maurepas, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 4, 2026 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick Dumas and Theresa Dumas. He is survived by: his wife Vivian; his daughters, Tara Schwing (Chris) and Rebekah Darbonne (Joe); his grandchildren, Grace, Henry, Beau and Anna Kate; and his siblings, Phil, Louise, Michael, Patti and David.
In lieu of flowers, Dan asked that you honor his memory by gathering with those you love—share a great meal, pour a drink, and tell a colorful tale as he so often did. And if you're able, throw in a moose call in honor of Gagnon, the Champion Moose Caller.
