He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sonnier and Hazel Caillais; and his brother Michael Sonnier. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Palombo Sonnier; his daughter Lona S. Champagne (Hugh); his stepchildren, Roslyn A. LeBlanc (Ryan "Duson" LeBlanc) and Travis Abshire (Kelly); his grandchildren, Addison Champagne, Vivian Champagne, Asher Champagne, Carson Abshire, Dawson LeBlanc, Gracie Abshire, Cole Credeur and Blake Credeur; and his siblings, Elena S. Willingham (Carroll), Glyn Sonnier (Amber) and Ricky Sonnier (Pam).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Delhomme Funeral Home - Maurice (200 Chief H Fred Ave, Maurice, LA 70555). A rosary will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Alphonsus Church Cemetery (8700 Maurice Ave, Maurice, LA 70555). A burial will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at the same location.
