He is survived by: his family Cumar; his nieces, Dr. Pinithi Perera, Niroshi and Manori; his former wife Usha Lorensuhewa; his children, Gayan and Ranmali DeSilva; his grandchild Scarlet Kerr; and his siblings, Chandrani Galappaththi, Wasanthakumara Galappaththi, Premakumara Galappaththi, Chithrani Galappaththi, Indrani Galappaththi, Kumuduni Galappaththi and Chandani Galappaththi.
