He was predeceased by: his father Guy Edwin Murphy, Jr.; and his brother Gerald E. Murphy. He is survived by: his wife Alexis Smith Murphy; his son Daniel Murphy; his mother Mary E. Murphy; his siblings, Robert Walker (Gaynell), Rosemary Walker Chauvin (John) and Julie Murphy Rico (Brad); his nieces and nephews, Christopher, Alicia, John-Claude, Joshua and Gabriella; and his parents-in-law, Marian and Louis Smith.
