He was predeceased by: his father James Preston Dorman; his siblings, Geraldine Dorman Cox and Harry Earl Dorman; and his wife Yvonne B. Dorman. He is survived by: his children, Rosemary Wise (Brian) and James Dorman, III; his granddaughter Melissa Celtunos (Atrum); and his great grandchild Rohan Celtunos. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, cousins, and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, an organization James felt strongly about.
