He was predeceased by: his parents, Laura Gallien Chase and Joseph Churchill Chase; and his brother Joseph Churchill Chase, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Landry Chase; his sons, John L. "Jay" Chase, Jr. (Meg Andrus Chase) of Lafayette, LA and Steven Jeffery Chase (Erin Gerdes Chase) of Metairie, LA; his grandchildren, Joseph Conrad Chase, John Christopher Chase, Jacob William Chase, Molly Marie Chase and Nicholas Andrew Chase; and his siblings, Laura Chase Arnett (Lawrence Arnett) and Michael Chase (Brenda Fallon Chase). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Angela Merici Catholic Church (901 Beverly Garden Dr, Metairie, LA 70002). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
