He was predeceased by: his parents, Octavio Diaz and Aida Leon; his siblings, Alberto Diaz (Cora), Carlos Diaz (Elda), Manuel Diaz (Edilia), Claro Diaz (Carmen), Noemi, Ela Acevedo (Angel), Lidia Angulo (Pedro) and Eneida Laffont (Galo); and his nieces and nephews, Edith Benemelis, Lidia Everett (Bibi), Edith Valdez, Elizabeth Chadbourne, Alejandro Sardina, Jorge, Christopher and Ryan Diaz.
He is survived by: his brothers, Dr. Elier Diaz (late Clara) and Ellis Diaz (Norka); his nieces, Ingrid Laffont and Eneida Younis (Mustafa); his great-niece Bianca Younis; and his godchildren, Michael Younis and Sivia Diaz. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great grandnieces and nephews, as well as great-great grandnieces and nephews.
