He was predeceased by: his parents, John R. Swindler and Norah Cox Swindler; and his brother Alan Swindler. He is survived by: his wife Julie R. Swindler; his children, David J. Swindler (Khristine), Laurie E. Daste (Craig) and Alison S. Bourgeois (Corey); and his sister Janet Schwieterman (Gary). He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Roger worked at the US Army Corps of Engineers until the diagnosis of Parkinson's forced him into an early retirement.
