Eldon Wain Howell Sr. Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eldon Wain Howell Sr. (Minden, Louisiana), who passed away on July 23, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Eldon Wain farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Eldon Wain is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his daughter Mary Jane "Janie" Jones; and his grandson Shane Howell. He is survived by: his wife Mary Howell of Minden; his children, Eldon Wain Howell, Jr. (Terri) of Minden, William S. Howell (Susan) of Homer, James R. Howell (Patricia) of Ashdown, Arkansas and Janice Nelson (Russell) of Minden; and his sister Inez Knutson (Obie) of Gulfport, Mississippi. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Eastside Missionary Baptist Church (1201 Park Hwy, Minden, LA 71055). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Memory Cemetery (1527 Lewisville Rd, Minden, LA 71055).
