He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude E. McMichael, Sr. and Tressie E. McMichael; and his brothers, Claude, Jr., James, Ralph and Kenneth McMichael.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn McMichael of Minden; his children, Randy McMichael (Sara) of Minden and Toni Palermo (Darren) of Clinton, LA; his grandchildren, Katelin Palermo of Orlando, FL, Allie Junkersfeld (Chris) of Clinton, LA and Jason Palermo of Salem, OR; and his great grandchild Piper Junkersfeld of Clinton, LA..
