She is survived by: her husband Clarence Schmittzehe; her children, Jackie Steed, Steve Schmittzehe, David Schmittzehe, Deborah Joyner and Sharon Schmittzehe; her grandchildren, Jennifer Dunn, James Joyner III and Jillian Joyner; her great grandchildren, Sam Lawing, Shelby Lawing, James Joyner IV and Wyatt Creech-Joyner; and her sister Delores Strap.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
