He was predeceased by : his father Leon Surratt; and his brother-in-law Stuart Gordon Dunaway. He is survived by : his mother Billye Jean Hollis Surratt; his son Jarrod; his granddaughter Aria Rose; his stepson Jamey Allen; his siblings, Dennis Surratt (Holly), Cindy Surratt Dunaway, Charlotte Giglio and Ef'Anne Strumpell; his nieces and nephews, Michael Surratt, Mandi Dunaway Minchew, Casey Surratt Ebey and Michelle Dunaway Burkett; his close friend Mary Williams; and his granddaughter Taylor McConaughey.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 8th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Kilpatrick Funeral Homes - Monroe (1200 Lamy Ln, Monroe, LA 71201). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 8th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 8th 2024 at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery (623 US-80, Monroe, LA 71203).
