He is survived by: his wife Doris Rachal Dowdy; and his children, Deborah Lockwood, David Dowdy, James Dowdy, Rebecca Dowdy and Artice Dowdey. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren.
