It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Jean Blackwelder (Monroe, Louisiana), who passed away on April 19, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Ray Blackwelder; her parents, Gladys Richardson and Curtis Dale; and her sister Carol Kirk. She is survived by: her children, Gary D. Blackwelder (Jacque), David Blackwelder of Monroe, LA, Dr. Mark A. Blackwelder (Joanna) of Ruston, LA and Lisa Blackwelder Mahon (Rob) of Auburn, AL; her brother Benny Richardson; and her grandchildren, Megean Blackwelder Shaw (Mat), Mollie Blackwelder Morgan (Robert), Zachary LaSuzzo (Stephanie), Josh Blackwelder (Nikki), Jake Blackwelder, Dr. Cody Blackwelder (Grace) and Dr. Casey Blackwelder Redding (Kyle). She is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren; and a host of friends and other family members.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in honor of Mrs. Blackwelder.
