It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jack Longino Smith of Monroe, Louisiana, born in Fairhope, Alabama, who passed away on December 8, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his former wife Alice Perry Smith; his sister Jean Howard; and his daughter-in-law Pamela Medak Smith. He is survived by: his children, David Perry Smith (Debbie), Jack Longino Smith (Katie), Frances S. Ward and Amy S. Yates (Mark); his grandchildren, Perry M. Smith (Tyler), Alice Marie S. Blanchard (Clay), Grayson M. Ward, Taylor H. Ward, Zach Smith, Brooke Lauve and Olivia Lauve; his great grandchildren, Emory Adele, Nell Marie and Sadie Lea; his siblings, Mary Sue Chambers, Camille Peterson (Al) and Paul Smith (Virginia); his sister-in-law Jo Ann Perry; and his close friend Mechelle Taylor.

“I just saw Jack’s obituary. I didn’t know we haven’t visited in a year. I negotiated a number of loans for Jack and came to knowing each other as friends as much as we were business people. It’s true all of us sooner or later will exit this earthly life. But, as with my friend Jack, there is a continuing sadness knowing he and I shall no longer visit or see each other, at least not for a while. I hope this finds all of you reveling in pleasant memories and the sadness reduced.”
