He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack James and Lois Hamilton James; his brothers, Jack James, Raymond James and David James; his brother-in-law Larry Clinkscales; and his son-in-law Marc Felts.

He is survived by: his wife Jeni Breeding James; his children, Jill James Felts Slawson (Terry Slawson) and Darren James (Alana Saterfield James); his grandchildren, Joshua Michael Felts, Kristen Felts Phan (Troy Phan), Hannah Christine James (Dan Robb) and Christopher Paul James (Brianna James); his sisters, JoAnn James Clinkscales, Mary James Bradford (Don) and Jeannie James Cook (Mike); and his friends, David, Dr. Shelly McCormick, Danny, Jennifer Rice Bufford, Loette Lansing and Frances Curty. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Seeker Springs Ministry, a place close to Jimmy's heart.
