She was predeceased by: her parents, Carrie Dowden and Charley Dowden; her siblings, Charley B., Keenan, Robert, Johnny Dowden, Beatrice Smith, Carrie Lee Dowden, Leazer Dowden and Melba Peterson; her daughter Donna Powell; and her son-in-law Dennis Blankenship.

She is survived by: her husband Clarence Powell; her children, Dick Powell (Nancy), Karan Blankenship and Sara Barefoot (Robert); her grandchildren, Anne Valenzano (Frank) and Nathan Powell (Amanda); her daughters, Letha Currin (Chris) and Cori Stancil (Stephen); and her great grandchildren, Abigail, Ethan, Deacon Valenzano, Jack Currin, Meredith and Emilia Powell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Louisiana Baptist Children's Home or North Monroe Baptist Church Missions.
