She was predeceased by: her parents, A. P. Simms, Jr. and Dorothy Broach; her husbands, Billy T. Smith and Fred Leon McAlister; her sons, Michael Paul Smith and David Patterson Smith; and her grandson Ethan Breland.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Smith, Terry Smith Atwood (Jerry), Amanda Smith Johnson (Lee) and Brandon Smith (Bernie). She is also survived by grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
