He is survived by: his wife Jennifer Spruell; his son Michael Shane Spruell; his sisters, Barbara (Nathan), Alice (Butch), Peewee (Jan), Debbie (Russell) and Wanda; and his nephew David Spruell Jr.. He is also survived by his family, friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Griffin F. H. (600 LA-139, Monroe, LA 71203). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery (2412 US-425, Rayville, LA 71269).
