She was predeceased by: her husband William T. "Dub" Carpenter; her parents, Willi Oscar and Maggie Texanna Turner James; her granddaughter Ashleigh Paige Elkins; and her brothers, Jack Turner James (Dorothy), Irvin Carroll James (Elaine) and Sam Ed James.
She is survived by: her daughter Robin Renee Elkins (Ricky); her stepson William Allen Carpenter (Susan); her grandchildren, Cody Elkins (Kasey), Caleb Elkins (Brigett), Tommy Carpenter and Julie Ann Carpenter; and her sister-in-law Mary Lou James. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Kildare Cemetery.
