He is survived by: his wife Ann Olivier Briggs; his daughters, Melissa Briggs Canone (Matthew), Mariah Briggs Christie (Ross), Claire Simmons (Toby) and Leah Dupree (Aubrey); his grandchildren, Maggie Canone, Marley Canone, Lochlan Christie, Eliza Simmons, Bailey Deason and Amber Merchant; his siblings, Sherry Smith (July), Penny Beck and Kenneth Briggs; his siblings-in-law, Roxanne Benoit (Brian), Debra Merchant (Eddie) and Johnny Olivier (Prissy); and his nephew Curtis Merchant (Sabrina). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
