He was predeceased by : his wife Scharlette C. Mayon; his parents, Clao Mayon and Belle Mayon; his daughter Vicki Mayon; and his brother Bobby Mayon.

He is survived by : his sons, James "Jimmy" Mayon, Jr. (Paulette) and Joey C. Mayon (Susan); his siblings, Ricky Mayon, June Mire, Barbara Dupuis (Reggie), Linda Carl (Danny) and Jackie Dolci (David); his grandchildren, Haley Babin (Hunter), Nicholas Mayon, Nikki Guillotte (Wade) and Adrianne Landry (Matt); his great grandchild Waylon Babin; and his grandchildren, Christopher, Corey, Chase, Gracie Guillotte, Kayden, Blake and Jaxson Landry.
