He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Matte and Amire Matte; his siblings, Elvie Matte, Elmire Richard and Janell Higginbotham; and his daughter Lori Jacobsen.
He is survived by: his child Bennie Matte; his grandchildren, Lori Jacobsen, Nathan Matte (Jill), Kelli Kent (Dwight), Joseph Jacobsen (Mandy), Danielle McDonald, Scott McDonald, Silas Wade, Julia Matte, Briar Kent and Evelyn Matte; his great grandchild Luke Jacobsen; his children, Danny McDonald, Nathan Matte and Kelli Kent; and his siblings, John Matte (Gloria) and Lola Lions. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Guidry Funeral Home (219 N Broadway St, Church Point, LA 70525). A rosary was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 1:45 PM at the same location. A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
