She was predeceased by: her husband Julius Beard; her parents, Mary Bell and John Waits, Jr.; and her siblings, John Waits, Joe Waits, Bolden Waits and Messie Billeaudeau.
She is survived by: her children, Betty Hicks (Milburn), Julius Beard (Janelle) of Baton Rouge, Tommy Beard (Carmen) of Lexington, SC, Eddie Beard (Susan) of Walker and Charles Ray Beard (Juanita) of Central; her siblings, Myrtle Billeaudeau of Baton Rouge and Williams Waits of Columbia, LA; and her grandchildren, Andy Beard, Brian Beard, Karen Hunter, Karen Boyer, Molly Ridout, Janie Sharp, Jonathan Beard, Steven Hicks, Rodney Hicks, Kevin Hicks, Eddie Beard, Cary Beard, Nicholas Beard, Bryce Tassin and Shelby Farace. She is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the BIG Cane Baptist Church (2230 LA-107, Morrow, LA 71356). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 1:45 PM at the BIG Cane Baptist Church Cemetery (2230 LA-107, Morrow, LA 71356).
