With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jewel Powell (Moss Bluff, Louisiana), born in Deridder, Louisiana, who passed away on December 6, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Matthew Warden and Josephine Slaydon Johnson; her husband Ezra Lee Powell; and her siblings, Roy Warden, Carl Warden, Claude Warden, Pauline Stokes and Juanita Gill.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Lee Justice (Ronny) of Cameron, TX. and Les D. Powell (Lisa) of Moss Bluff; her grandchildren, Chris Justice (Sara), Dawn Andrews (Michael), Jake Powell (Donna) and Zach Powell; her great grandchildren, Hailey Justice, Ally Andrews, Jaxson Andrews, Graham Powell, Carson Powell, Rhett Powell, Charlie Powell and Dru Powell; her sister Mary Nicks; and her brother-in-law Roy Gill. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff (150 Bruce Cir, Moss Bluff, LA 70611). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
