She was predeceased by: her parents, Everett Gunter and Jeanette Maggio Gunter; and her brothers, Sam and Barry Gunter. She is survived by: her siblings, Jimmy Gunter (Carol) of Natchitoches, LA and Peggy Downey (Rick) of Tyler, Texas.; her nieces, Karen Sonnier (Shannon) of Erath, LA, Lori Porter of Erath, LA, Megan Williams (Carson) and Lauren Wright (Jordan); her nephew Jason Downey of Tyler, Texas.; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Kristen Romero (Cody), Katelyn Broussard (Holden), Emma Sonnier, Lilah Williams, Dr. Rhett Sonnier (Lauren Sonnier), Seth Sonnier, Cameron Carpenter and Hudson Wright; and also, Annelise Broussard and Cohen Romero.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home (848 Keyser Ave, Natchitoches, LA 71457). A rosary was held on Monday, May 19th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, May 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Minor Basilica (145 Church St, Natchitoches, LA 71457).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic School in Natchitoches, LA in her loving memory.
