He is survived by: his children, Will Bowden, Lucy Lee Bowden and Francis Abigail Bowden; the mother of his children Lucy Poston; his sister-in-law Amy Poston; and his friend Carla Bond.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar VFW Post 1962 (400 St Denis St, Natchitoches, LA 71457).

Known for his generous spirit, Grant was proud of his contributions to the community, most notably as a key figure in spearheading the Natchitoches Veterans Memorial, which stands as a testament to his dedication to honoring fellow veterans.
