She was predeceased by: her father John Smith; her grandparents, Caramlita and Mayo Thibeaux; her brother Walter Lee Smith; and the father of her children Nelson Jean Lewis Sr..
She is survived by: her mother Mary Smith; her children, Valencia M. Patterson, Nelson J. Lewis Jr. and Dametria R. Lewis; her children-in-law, John Patterson and Felicia Lewis; her grandchildren, Jamiah Green, Jylon Lewis and Jimmy Gradney III; her stepgrandchildren, Ava Grace George, GioVanni and Ezran Cummings; and her siblings, Linda Edmond, Micheal, John and Carl Smith. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and other relatives.
