He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon L. Simmons, Sr. and Lucille Sparks Simmons; his siblings, Dorothy Mae Simmons, Chlotilde Simmons Jackson and Billy J. Simmons; and his siblings' children, Albert S. George, III and Cassandra George Tidwell.
He is survived by: his sister Betty J. Simmons Lawrence; his sibling's children, LuAnn Brown, Victoria Robles, Connie Jackson and Lonny A. George; and his sister-in-law Laverne Simmons.
