He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie David Rodgers and Laura Grigsby Rodgers; his wife Inge Rodgers; his siblings, Betty Rodgers, Gerald Rodgers, Carol Rodgers, Marvin Rodgers and Dorothy Rodgers; his children, Venessa Rodgers and Gwendolyn Rodgers; his stepsons, Michael Gerlinger, Stefan Gerlinger and Andreas Gerlinger; and his grandchildren, Kyrstal Long and Nicole Long.

He is survived by: his brother Roland Rodgers; his children, William D. Rodgers (Marlene Rodgers) of Louisiana, Mark A. Rodgers (Nancy Rodgers) of Colorado, Marland Rodgers (Donna Rodgers) of Virginia and Billy Jean Paulus (Roman Paulus) of Germany; and his stepchildren, Thomas Gerlinger (Anna) of Germany and Frank Gerlinger of Germany. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
