She was predeceased by: her husband John Norvel Brantley; her parents, Virgil Lee Taylor and Eula Gustavia Cruse Taylor; her siblings, Euna Vilcan, Virginia Cole (Doris) and Glenn Madison Taylor; and her son-in-law Clarence Anthony Mestayer.
She is survived by: her nephew Sherman Taylor; her children, John Alton Brantley (Johnet) of Youngsville and Norvelee "Norva" B. Mestayer of Broussard; and her sister Edwina Picou (Myra) of Thibodeaux. She is also survived by two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nineteen nieces and nephews.
