He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Denison Sr. and Margaret Smith Denison; his brother Martin Denison (Grace); his father-in-law Charles Ronsonet; and his siblings-in-law, Johnny Norris, Charles Ronsonet Jr. and Phyillis Ronsonet Breaux.

He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Ronsonet Denison; his sons, Richard Lyle Denison Jr. (Madeleine) and Jacob Ryan Denison (Whitney); his grandchildren, Landen Dauzat, Olivia Dauzat and Claire Denison; his siblings, Roland "Pompsie" (Margaret "Dinkie"), Greg (Lisa) and Charlie (Carolyn); and his mother-in-law Barbara Moss Ronsonet.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Peter Catholic Church (108 E St Peter St, New Iberia, LA 70560). A rosary will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
