It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sandra Achee Darby in New Iberia, Louisiana, who passed away on March 27, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmett Joseph Achee and Louise Pontiff Achee; her parents-in-law, Paul Darby Sr. and Ida Perez Darby; her siblings, Sybil Darby Maturin (Paul Darby Jr.) and Reid Achee; her siblings-in-law, Henry Fielding Lewis and Gladys Darby Lewis; and her granddaughter Kimberly Marie Saucier.
She is survived by: her husband Bernard "Ben" James Darby Sr.; her children, Connie Darby, Cynthia "Cindy" Peterson (Mark), Carrie Terry (Larry), Kelly Broussard (Clint), Bernard "Ben" Darby Jr. and Steven J. Darby (Maggie); her siblings, Timothy Achee Sr. (Brenda) and Donna Dupre (Bryan); and her friends, Betty Pillaro, Marcel Simpson and Inez Guidroz Robicheaux. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; as well as all of her nieces and nephews.
