She was predeceased by: her husband Wade J. Bernard, Jr. of St. Martinville; and her son Bart (Gary Hartman). She is survived by: her parents, Willie B. Sonnier and Cora Fruge Sonnier; her sons, David (Debbie) of New Iberia and Richard Wayne (Molly) of Oklahoma City; her grandchild Avery (Stefan Benoit) of Geismer; her great grandchild Sutton; and her siblings, Donald "Duck" Sonnier, Earl Charles Sonnier and Elise Gautreaux. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Pellerin Funeral Home (502 Jefferson Terrace, New Iberia, LA 70560). A rosary was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the St. Peter's Catholic Church (108 E St Peter St, New Iberia, LA 70560). A burial was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Holy Family Cemetery (2807 N Curtis Ln, New Iberia, LA 70560).
