She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Larks, Sr. and Cora Lee Green Larks; and her brothers, Joseph Larks, Charley Larks, Jr. and Harry Larks.
She is survived by: her brother Alfred Larks, Sr. (Marie); and her godson Evans Larks. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alvera's memory to Cosmopolitan EBC or the New Orleans Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Scholarship Fund, continuing her legacy of education and service.
